A place for kids to be kids.

Homelessness is tough on kids. When they should be playing or exploring, they are transitioning from shelter to shelter or waiting while parents work on finding jobs and housing. To aid childrens' development, The Family Place offers programming for kids of all ages.

On any given day, The Family Place may have from one to twenty children participating in our child enrichment programs. In a room designed by The Minnesota Montessori Center of Minnesota, our staff leads creative art projects, teaches reading and math skills, provides one-on-one attention, and promotes healthy interpersonal skills.

The Family Place also ensures that kids stay in school. In partnership with the "Title One Program: Education for Homeless Children," all school age children are enrolled and attend school. School buses pick up and drop children off at the center.
