The Family Place provides intake and assessment services for any family seeking emergency shelter in Ramsey County. We can accommodate 40 individuals at any given time, yet on average we receive calls to serve three times as many persons each month.
Starting with a face-to-face interview, our Intake staff assesses the individual housing needs of each family. If The Family Place is full or not the appropriate setting to meet the family’s needs, they are referred to other shelters or transitional housing facilities.
Our guest families are facing many challenges and obstacles during this transition period in their lives. To help ease their burdens, The Family Place coordinates with other human service agencies to ensure each family has access to the supportive services and community resources they need to move forward to a brighter, more stable future.
