The Family Place provides intake and assessment services for any family seeking emergency shelter in Ramsey County. On average, we receive calls to serve over 120 people each month. We can accommodate 40 individuals at any given time.
Starting with a face-to-face interview, our intake manager assesses the housing needs of each family. If we are full, or if a different type of housing is more appropriate to the family's needs, we provide referrals to other shelters or transitional housing facilities.
Our guests have a lot to manage during this transitional period in their lives. To make it a little bit easier, The Family Place coordinates with other human service agencies to make sure the families can access the supportive services and community resources they need.
