Finding a place to call home.
The Family Advocate helps our guests evaluate the issues that contributed to their homelessness. We then establish an action plan to get them into transitional or permanent housing.
The process begins with identifying needs based on family size, income potential and other contributing factors. We cover all the bases – offering tenant rights training, transportation to housing appointments, and referrals to permanent housing.
Once a family finds suitable housing, The Family Place’s Housing Program provides a move in basket with basic household cleaning supplies, bedding, dishes and cookware along with a handy tool kit .
We are there to guide families as they settle into their permanent home. We are there to see formerly homeless children and their families move from despair to hope, from uncertainty to stability.
