Our volunteers are special people.
At the Family Place, our guest families are living with uncertainty and instability. They live with the stigma of homelessness and the often accompanying feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. We strive to provide an atmosphere of consistency and stability. Therefore, we seek volunteers who are willing and able to meet these expectations:
- Volunteers must treat all guest families with dignity and respect.
- Volunteers must be consistent in their time commitment to The Family Place. Whether you commit to volunteering once a week or once a month, we count on your time to assist our staff and families.
- Volunteers must commit to two or more hours per visit.
- Volunteers must be flexible in the type of service they can provide and be non-judgmental in working with our families.
